Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” There are many thoughtful pioneers who have given us the facts and what we need to do to clean up the environment. Our responsibility is to make it personal by living green and encouraging others to do so. Regardless of political or philosophical beliefs, there are no downsides to working toward reducing our dependence on oil, or the amount of chemicals in our food and water, or in conserving our natural resources. MENDENHALL GLACIERThe picture at the top right is beautiful Mendenhall Glacier near Juneau, Alaska. Since the visitor center was built in the 1960s, the glacier now begins more than a mile from where it began then. It is only one of the many glaciers throughout the earth that is melting at accelerated rates because of global warming, created at least in part by human impact on the climate.
